One stone is smooth and pale, as though it has been polished by water.
The other is dark and rough, with sharp edges and tiny hollows.
Perhaps one has rolled along a riverbed, turned over and over by the current. Perhaps one has rested beneath the earth for years, waiting to be found.
Hold them gently and imagine the places they may have known.
Which stone do you think has travelled the furthest?
Try this: Close your eyes and hold one stone in each hand. What can their shapes, weight and textures tell you?
