There’s something magical about the moment a child begins to create — when their hands move, their ideas spark, and something entirely their own begins to take shape. Our Young Makers Competitions are all about those moments. The tiny bursts of imagination that turn into colours, shapes, stories and treasures.
Welcome to our Young Makers space, created to celebrate children’s creativity in its simplest, truest form. Every other month, we share a gentle prompt or theme — something open‑ended, playful and full of possibility.
What the Young Makers Competition Is
The Young Makers Competition is a bi‑monthly invitation for children to make, build, draw, craft or imagine something inspired by our theme. There’s no right way to join in — just space to explore ideas and enjoy the joy of creating.
Competitions are shared on the first weekday of: January, March, May, July, September and November.
Entries are welcomed until the 15th of each of those months, and a winner is announced on the last day.
Why It Exists
We created the Young Makers Competition because we believe creativity grows when it’s nurtured gently. When children make something, they learn to express themselves, notice details, and take pride in their ideas. These competitions are designed to help families pause together, create together, and celebrate the small wonders children bring into the world.

Faces never need to be shown — hands, colours and tiny details tell the story beautifully. Please include your child’s first name and age so we can celebrate them properly.

A Note on Fairness & Accessibility Our Young Makers Competitions are always free to enter and open to children of all abilities. Entries are judged on creativity, effort and interpretation of the theme — never on age, equipment, or artistic skill.
Our monthly “winner” receives a small, joyful reward, which may be a digital certificate, a feature on our website, or an occasional low‑cost treat or they may even get to see their design come to life for a short while! We keep our prizes simple and sustainable so we can continue offering these competitions freely to all families.
